This is a short program designed for people with limited time but who want to hike a section of the famous Inca Trail and enter the Inca sanctuary through the famous Sun gate. Enjoy the natural beauties and the scenic views of this easy to moderate trip.
A great option for a short visit to Machu Pichu!
Wake up at the call of birdsongs. The half-day hike to the Chachabamba will take you to the lush vegetation of the cloud forest where exotic birds (Andean guan, Gray-breasted mountain toucan, etc.) will salute your passing.
Enjoy the scenic views of the Urubamba River and look for the playful Torrent Ducks. Do not miss the various wild Orchids and bromeliads along the path!!!
In late afternoon, you might see the colorful Cocks-of-the-Rock, the national bird of Peru; make its display around the campsite.
Pick up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer to the train station.
2 hours Train journey to km 104, cross the Urubamba river, guided tour of
Chachabamba archaeological site, then we climb gradual steep up with
impressive view.
Later on, we go through neo-tropical cloud forest and on the way we can see orchids, birds and waterfall...
After 3 hours hike we get to Wiñay Wayna Inca site, the most well preserved and beautiful sites in the area.
Guided tour and time to explore, lunch. After Lunch we continue our hike for 2 more hours to reach the Sungate at Machu Picchu. Enjoy a beautiful sunset at the Sun gate where afterwards we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to spend the night in a hostel.
Time to relax and enjoy the most impressive views of the oriental range. Overnight in a hostal in Aguas Calientes.
Early wake up at 5.30am for breakfast at 6 a.m.
We take the first bus to Machu Picchu to enter the site early in the morning for the best photo opportunities (less tourists!) and then spend the rest of the morning visiting and exploring the actual site of Machu Picchu.
Return to Ollantaytambo by train from Aguas Calientes (actual town of Machu Picchu) and then a bus ride to Cusco.
